INTRODUCTION:

Packaging Research and Teaching has been a part of the Massey University Food Technology Programme since the 1960s. A separate Packaging Group was developed in the late 1980s with a separate Degreee in Packaging Technology with has been redeveloped as a Graduate Diploma in Packaging Technology, Post Graduate Diploma in Packaging Technology and both Masters and PhD available. ACTIVITIES:

Teaching

Research—Strong research programme in packaging materials (used for) and packaging of horticultural products and food; working closely with New Zealand Industry and other Research Organisations.

Funding—Government part of University Funding; Foundation of Science, Research and Technology Project funding (also Government) (in cooperation with SCION). Private Company project funding.
