The LCSV (UPRES EA-494) is a research laboratory of Bordeaux-1 University. It includes 4 Professors, 1 Research Director (CNRS), 7 Assistant-Professors, 3 Research Engineers, 4 Technicians, 8 Graduates (Ph.D.) and numerous undergraduate students. In addition to teaching, the LCSV encompasses several research groups in the area of lignocellulosic materials chemistry and biopackaging: bio-active composite films and coatings, multilayer paper based packaging, biodegradable packaging, chemical modification, plant fibre reinforced composites. In particular, the LCSV has acquired considerable experience in antimicrobial bio-packaging and fiber/polymers compatibility issues. Numerous technical facilities belonging to both chemistry and lignocellulosic materials science are available at the LCSV: Coating and multilayered matrix making equipment, material testing system (mechanical, barrier, optical, thermal and antimicrobial properties), water interaction investigations (goniometer, sorption isotherms, NMR low resolution, Karl Fisher ...), respirometer, enzymatic biofragmentation determination, and all necessary chemical synthesis equipment (including scale-up reactors) ...The LCSV has also access to a wide variety of analytic equipment: UV-Visible spectrometer with integrating sphere, FTIR (including DRIFT and ATER), liquid and solid NMR spectroscopy (400Mhz, 300MHz, 250MHz), Low resolution pulse NMR spectroscopy, chromatography (HPLC, GC…), mass spectroscopy (including GCMS and MALDI-TOF), electrophoresis. |
