Pakkausteknologia—PTR ry (the Association of Packaging Technology and Research) is a non-profit organisation co-ordinating packaging research in Finland. It is owned by industry and most of the projects are pre competitive. According to its code of conduct, PTR collaborates with experts from different fields to carry out research projects.

PTR has an unofficial independent advisory status when packaging and packaging waste laws and degrees are planned in Finland. PTR takes actively part in the European standardization of packaging (CEN/TC-261) and is chairing SFS/TK-111, the responsible Finnish mirror group of TC-261. PTR co-ordinated Packaging technology programme 1994-1999 and Safety and information in packaging 2001-2005 for Tekes (Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation).
